Breja… a beautiful old granite cottage that has been lovingly restored with a contemporary twist. Surrounded by the breathtaking wild West Cornish landscape the garden is very exposed to the elements.

The garden design was inspired by both the surrounding landscape and the property. A wildlife garden with a twist.

Using lots of native hedgerows, wild flower meadows, granite features and rustic timbers to complement the natural environment.

Windbreaks, sunken areas and sculpted bunds give plants the protection they need to establish and thrive and to create micro climates to help the enjoyment of the garden throughout the year.

The epicentre of the garden is the sunken pond area: a 22,000 litre pond, softened with a shallow beach on one side and a bog garden on the other.

Turning this grassland into a garden has been real pleasure from concept through to completion.

The clients passion for plants and nature along with their understanding of the climatic conditions helped make the project a great success.
